I was was checking the above stove hoping to do a flame shot as I’m going to try & move this along. Once I’d preheated & give the stove a couple of pumps to get the burner going I got nothing through the burner but a flame below it… Any advise on fixing it? Cheers.
Thanks for the reply. Yes I did. I might have to get hold of a jet key & try to remove it. The prickers I’ve got aren’t exactly ‘pristine’.
Where is the flame coming from? If your nipple is working properly, there should be a column of vapourised fuel (as a gas) shooting straight up through the nipple into the burner cap. Your photos appear to show the fuel igniting around the nipple. Tony
Yup, I’m going to have to get the nipple off & have a look at it. It was working fine just before Christmas when we had a power cut. Typically, I can’t the jet key so I’ll have to buy another. May as well get a new jet too, I suppose, just in case it’s buggered. On firing there is a flame jet going up the tube into the burner cap but it must not be vapourising. As soon as I put the silent cap on it doesn’t burn through the cap as it should. Thanks guys.
