So I saw these online for the 425. I believe the model is 5140. Does this same model work for a 413 series? Such as the 413G? Thanks for any info! Cheers!
I presume you have (or considering) a 413G? Jus like you said the (NICE!) 5140-425 griddle, is made "for the 425". FYI y'all, there is also the ... 5130-413 griddle, is made for the 413. Bigger than the 5140, bigger is better. That is the best griddle to get for the 413, I would agree but I add a caveat to that read-on. So readers might wonder, "What's the diff?" ... answer: the bottom and size matters. Keeping in mind (the burners) 425 17 1/4" wide, the burners are 9" apart on-center (center to center). 413 22" wide, ......the burners are 11" apart on-center. 426 ...very wide,.. the burners are 9 1/4" apart on-center, btw. The caveat: if you have access to a 425 smaller griddle to use on a 413 bigger stove, not a perfect fit, the burners will not line-up perfectly BUT it will be ok (per Coleman). Reason: re the 5130-413, Coleman suggests also "use with 426" <-- this tells you that burners being offset is ok (burners: 413; 11" apart, 426; 9 1/4" apart) and PLENTY of universal griddles are simply flat on bottom, work fine (vs Coleman 5140/5130).
@OMC Thanks for the information. Those points all make perfect sense. When observing the 413G in particular, under the burners is a metal grooved plate. From the pics i sent for the 425 the heat shield plates lined up with the grooved bottom it appears. i was under the impression that perhaps a 413 version from that decade had a similar set up? I currently do not have a 413G, but I am eyeing one however. I just was wondering what the plates were under the burners and then I saw a 425 pic with those shields an d I thought. Oh!
