Pick up a rusty KK with no fount couple weeks back and ran it on Propane and modified a No. 7 KK tank to work. Ok its been a couple weeks and my little KK Sun Flame 2221 has a period correct fount and is purring like a little kitten. Thanks to Keith aka Majicwrech and his willingness to scavenge through his AGM stash and find small dia. tank with correct length gen and a pump. Can not begin to say how appreciative I am for him to do this for me all the while hosting his adventure weekends with the kids. Good solid fount with everything arrived and with very little work got it fitted to stove. Might add the guy charges way too little for his stuff, be sure to pay him more. Need to see what's is causing the small dia. gen to just burn a lazy yellow flame. Plenty of heat and still lazy flame. Switch to a Thermos gen which is same length and bingo. Will see if adjusting needle length does any thing later. Time for spam and Mac!!
Yep, Keith is pretty good about helping others, setting a great example for us all. Hope to see him for a third time this summer. I was given an old Coleman stove a few years back, had the wrong tank. Funny, a year or more later while riding my bicycle back from the post office, I spotted an old stove at the top of a dumpster a neighbor was filling with junk from a property they had bought, I had already gotten stuff from them. The tank in that stove was the one I needed for the old stove I was given. Duane
@Daryl Absolutely superb renovation job you have carried out on your Kamokook And well done @Majicwrench for the supply of the tank. Pharael.
Thanks guys. Cooked Spam and Mac to honor Keith @Majicwrench for suppling such nice looking fount. Stove works as good as it looks.
The tank does look great thanks to you. You know exactly how the spam and mac tastes too. As I reported to you it was 'user error' with skinny gen first round. Tried three time yesterday from cold start and burned fine. Just to much in hurry to get it fired and not enough pre-heat of CI burner.
